Carey is a former fashion model. She is 5'10" tall, and was popular among top American designers, such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren as well as others. She is the daughter of an outstanding geologist who was awarded the title of Scientist of the year in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey traveled all over due to her father's work. As she was attending an institution called the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. An agent from Ford's model agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. She briefly lived and studied in Paris before returning back to New York. Her modeling as well as her college career took off and she appeared on Glamour's, Vogue's and many other magazine covers. While she was modeling, she was also a full-time student obtaining a major in literature at New York University. After graduation, in New York she began to pursue acting. Her debut as an actor was as a character alongside Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Paradise. Skiing, white water rafting and rock climbing are her most loved things to do.
